MINIS

POPCORN MINIS (3-6 year olds) meet on;

 SUNDAY MORNINGS, 9:00am - 9:45am in the DRAMA STUDIOS at St JOHN THE BAPTIST SCHOOL

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS, 5:00- 5:45pm at ST JOHN'S MEMORIAL HALL

At Popcorn classes are taught in a structured and fun environment. Your child will learn to sing, act and dance while we nurture their confidence and creativity. We have a really  supportive group where all the students are made to feel very welcome. We incorporate the three elements of musical theatre into a weekly 45 minute workshop.

What will my child learn at Popcorn?

In a Popcorn minis class we believe a child’s mind is full of inventive and imaginative ideas which should be nurtured and expressed in a safe environment. We incorporate imaginative adventures into our musical theatre classes that link to the song, dance or story we are focusing on. Our mini sessions, as well as being a lot of fun, focus on developing each child's confidence, vocabulary, social skills and creativity.  We will learn new songs, take on the voices and physicality of different characters, develop fitness and through dance routines all while each child is being encouraged to step out of their own "selves" and put themselves in the position of another person.

At the end of each term children will have the opportunity to present what they have been working on to their friends and family. This will be a mixture of musical theatre songs, dances and scenes. This is a fun opportunity to show you what they have been up to, it is not a pressured showing. There will be opportunity for solos, both speaking and singing, for any child that wants one but it is never a requirement. We celebrate the achievements of every child, be that singing a whole solo or getting up on the stage at all! Confidence looks different for everyone.
