"MAKE YOUR OWN MUSICAL" SUMMER SCHOOL

3rd- 7th August 2026

SUMMER 2026 -AFTER HOURS: THE MUSEUM MUSICAL!

 

When a group of children get accidentally locked inside a museum overnight, they think they are in for the most boring night ever… until midnight strikes and the museum springs to life.

 

But when the magical clock that keeps everything under control breaks, dinosaurs, pirates and pharaohs begin roaming the halls. With history spiralling into chaos, the children must fix the magic before morning… or the museum will never be the same again!


We, as a team, will write the story, script and lyrics to this brand new musical as well as make parts of the set! On the final day will perform our show to all of our family and friends at BUZZ Theatre Woking!

 

What is Make Your Own Musicals all about?

 

MYOM is great for building confidence in children, as well as giving children the chance to shine on the stage.

 

Each day starts and finishes with drama games which will incorporate team building, confidence, vocal and acting skills which, in a highly fun way will ensure that every single child is completely happy with the group.

 

I've never written a musical before, what is there to help me?

 

This week we will all be working together, so anyone who feels a bit nervous about writing doesn't need to be afraid. Each child will get a pack which we will work from all week, included in this is;

And our amazing team of teachers will be there every step of the way!


Do you provide costumes and props?

 

Some props will be provided by us however, each child also has to find their own costume. We ask each child not to go out and buy something, but to use things that they already have at home that they can transform into something using their imagination.

 

Still not sure what we will be up to all week? We will:


Write an entire script in five days
Be part of a show
Meet lots of new people and make lots of new friends
Gain confidence
Learn new acting and vocal skills
HAVE FUN!

[My child] always has a great time. He loves the creativity and team work involved. He always had so much to tell me when he gets back at the end of each day and quite often keeps coming up with ideas to take back the next day.
[My child] has had such an amazing experience with you. He is still singing the songs and he wants to join you in September. We were so happy and proud to see him perform on Friday. We were amazed at how the show was put together in one week!

This SUMMER the themes are...


CHART TOPPERS, CARS, LITTLE MERMAID, BARBIE, OLIVER AND FROZEN!


We've got lots of fun up our sleeve this summer. Split into age appropriate groups we will be learning songs, scripts and dances in keeping with the theme, going  on adventures with the characters, making parts of the set in arts and crafts and much more! There will also be an opportunity for friends and family to come and see what we've been up to at the end of the day.

I will be looking into further workshops with you and possibly regular classes in the future. She loved her time with you.

[My child] went to the Matilda workshop and have the most amazing day. Normally nervous to perform she felt so comfortable to perform her heart out. We hadn't even left the building before her and her sister begged me to send them the next day. They both had the most amazing time at the Moana and Wicked workshops. A normally shy performer stepped out of her comfort zone and surprised us all. 
She can't wait to start the weekly classes.
[My Daughter] had a fantastic day at your Disney Workshop and said it was the best drama workshop she's been to. The booking process was easy and it was very cost effective. Engagement with parents via emails and the pre-workshop phone call was just enough communication. A good amount of reminders and enough info for what was needed etc. We'll definitely be booking with you again.
[My child] loved the Matilda workshop at Easter and couldn't stop talking about it when came home. She enjoyed learning all the script and songs aswell as performing it in front of all. She also loves the side of the workshop where have do tasks about the theme too as well as crafts to break up the workshop.

The workshop are fun and age appropriate for the age of the children attending.
